One day you’re the CEO of a small, remote shire in Western Australia. The next, your town is a viral sensation thanks to a Facebook video of road-paving — a video that now boasts more than 14 million views and counting.

Such is the twist of fate experienced by Alan Leeson, chief executive of the shire of Moora.

It was Leeson’s idea to shoot the video of the paving, he explained to Mashable via email. “I instructed our works supervisor (aka drone pilot extraordinaire) Trevor Longman to drag out the shire’s drone which we purchased last year and capture the finishing touches to Airstrip Road.” Read more…
