James Van Der Beek is going from Dawson to Diplo.

The actor, known for his iconic role on Dawson’s Creek, is switching gears to play a fictional version of DJ-producer-musician Diplo in Viceland’s first scripted comedy series called What Would Diplo Do?(WT)

The six-episode series, which Van Der Beek also serves a showrunner for, is scheduled to premiere “later in 2017.”

Diplo serves as an executive producer alongside Brandon Dermer and Kevin Kusatsu.  Dermer will also direct.
