Twitter’s Thursday problems appear to be fixed

Twitter’s having a rough February. Following some problems last Friday, the social network experienced some issues on Thursday as well. It doesn’t seem to be a full-on outage, but there were a handful of small issues.

I was having trouble loading tweets on profiles in my browser. App researcher Jane Manchun Wong chronicled a couple problems, but said Twitter made a change to mitigate things. Searching “twitter down” on Twitter showed a number of people are experiencing issues, though there are now far fewer of those than there were. And a few Verge staffers noticed problems.

Downdetector showed a spike in user reports of issues, but the volume of reports appears to have dramatically fallen. Outage map screenshots taken an hour apart indicate the problems might have been worst for those near New York City and Washington, DC.

Despite our feelings that something might be off, Twitter’s status page showed that all systems were operational. When reached for comment, Twitter said it’s looking into what might be going on.

Update February 17th, 1:02PM ET: The problems appear to be resolved.
