Turns out echidnas love going for a swim at the beach

The echidna may be famous for its cute babies (called “puggles“) and its plethora of spikes, but did you know echidna’s can swim too?

Turns out they love a quick dip in the ocean as much as the next Australian — a fact witnessed by YouTube user Jamie Finn in a recent video.

According to Parks Tasmania, the monotreme is in fact a really good swimmer. It’s been seen to “cross wide beaches to swim and groom themselves in the sea.”
