This futuristic tumbleweed is actually a minesweeper


Mine Kafon‘ is a “low-cost wind-powered mine detonator with the appearance of a giant, spiky-armed tumbleweed.”

There’s an estimated 110 million mines still buried around the world. The inventor of ‘Mine Kafon’ – a former Afghan refugee – hopes it will inspire others to join the effort to make the world mine-free by 2027. Read more…
