Thais can now buy Sriracha sauce, to see what all the fuss is about
The popular chilli sauce comes from Californian manufacturer Huy Fong Foods, founded by Vietnamese-American David Tran, which has been making it since the 1980s.

The sauce, in its distinctive red rooster packaging, is often thought of as originating from Thailand, because it’s similar to the garlicky dipping sauces used in seafood restaurants there. It’s also named after the Thai province of Si Racha.
But it’s entirely American. Most Southeast Asian countries don’t carry it.
Now, Thais can buy it via online retailer Lazada. According to Huy Fong’s new Facebook page promoting Sriracha in Thailand, the sauce will start showing up on traditional supermarket shelves, too. Read more…
