Sansui’s new 55-inch 4K OLED is just $799

Last week, Sansui debuted a new 4K 120Hz 55-inch OLED TV (S55VOUG) that’s available for between $799 and $899 “depending on retailer promotions.”
That’s quite a price, considering that a “cheap” OLED is normally priced over $1,000 outside of temporary discounts. Sharp released a Roku TV with similar specs at $1,499.99 last year, and LG’s B4 launched at $1,699. Sansui’s TV sits more in the budget range of some Mini-LEDs like the 55-inch Hisense U7. The TV seems to have only launched in the US, as What HiFi? notes.
According to specs listed by Micro Center, the Sansui OLED runs Google TV and has gamer-centric features like variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode. It features four HDMI ports, though it’s not specified what version is supported. Sansui writes that it has two built-in speakers (including a subwoofer!) and supports both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
Then there’s the karaoke mode, which Sansui says “removes vocals from YouTube videos in real-time.” It appears as though that includes putting lyrics on the screen, at least judging from Sansui’s video above. It’s a neat bonus that sounds similar to Apple Music Sing on an Apple TV. If the feature doesn’t work all that well, you’ve still got a cheap OLED, and there are countless karaoke versions of songs on YouTube.
Sansui writes that you’ll be able to buy its new 55-inch OLED TV at retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Micro Center. It’s also available for $899.99 at Newegg.
