Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra specs: everything you need to know

After many months of leaks, hype, and speculation, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has finally arrived, and as expected from Samsung’s latest super-phone, this has arguably the best selection of specs we’ve yet seen on a smartphone.
When it comes to the core power and performance, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset, which is essentially an overclocked version of the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That makes this likely the most powerful chipset available to Android phones right now.
It’s also joined by 12GB of RAM, no matter which storage configuration you choose (with the options being 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB). And on the software side you’re getting big upgrades to the core Android experience, as Samsung has debuted ‘Galaxy AI’ here and on the rest of the Samsung Galaxy S24 line.
This refers to various new AI-powered features, such as the ability to live translate voice calls, circle things in photos and videos to search Google for them, automatically have your notes summarized, and edit photos in a variety of powerful ways.
If you’re curious about how the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra performs in practice, you’ll find our first impressions in our hands-on Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra review, but for a closer look at the specs, check out the table below, followed by an overview of the highlights.

As you can see in the specs list above, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has a promising selection of cameras, including a 200MP main one, a 12MP ultra-wide, a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP periscope with 5x optical zoom.
Of those, it’s only the 50MP snapper that’s new though, and it replaces the 10MP 10x zoom of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Samsung is still promising optical quality 10x zoom here though (along with up to 100x digital zoom) so there’s a good chance the Galaxy S24 Ultra will unseat its predecessor as the best camera phone. Many of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra’s other specs are similar or identical to those of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, including its 5,000mAh battery, 45W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, 12MP front-facing camera, its included S Pen, its ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and its 6.8-inch QHD+ screen.
However, that screen is brighter than before, reaching up to 2,600 nits, where the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra tops out at 1,750 nits. That should make outdoor visibility much better on this new phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra also has a titanium frame in place of the aluminum of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Titanium is a more premium material, and brings the phone more in line with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which also use titanium.
