LONDON — American actress and apparent British politics enthusiast Lindsay Lohan was a vocal supporter of the Remain camp during the UK’s EU referendum in June.
She made her views known in a series of tweets that have since been deleted, but not before her opining captured the attention — and the ire — of the English village of Kettering.
She mentioned the town specifically by name in a tweet:
Um, sorry, but #LINDSAY how could you not know of Kettering, home to world’s most unimaginative breakfast cereal?
But that’s neither here nor there. Calling the tweet “fierce and offensive,” the Northamptonshire town’s MP Philip Hollobone, a Leave campaigner, invited the Parent Trap starlet to turn on the town’s Christmas lights to “redeem” her reputation. Read more…
