Here’s how much bigger the Galaxy S8 is than the iPhone 7

We’re confident that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is going to have a big screen, with most rumors pointing to a 5.8-inch display for the standard model and a 6.2-inch one for the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, but what will that mean for its size in your hand?

We now have a good idea of that too, thanks to comparison diagrams, showing Samsung’s upcoming phones alongside some current ones.

The images, which were shared by prolific leaker @OnLeaks, show that the Samsung Galaxy S8 has dimensions of 148.90 x 68mm and that despite the big screen it’s actually slightly smaller than the 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 7 overall, thanks to the removal of the home button and the tiny bezels.

It’s also shown up against the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the latter of which it’s significantly smaller than, though it’s bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S7 or iPhone 7.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, that comes in at 159 x 74mm and a similar size overall to the iPhone 7 Plus, despite that phone having a far smaller 5.5-inch screen. The S8 Plus is marginally taller, but not as wide.

The upshot being that neither the S8 or S8 Plus should be too much of a handful. They’re bigger than most ‘normal’ phones, but the standard Galaxy S8 isn’t quite phablet sized, and if you can handle an iPhone 7 Plus, you should be able to handle either one of these.

Getting certified

We’ve also heard news that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus have both been certified by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission – a US government agency).

The filing doesn’t reveal much, other than that they’ll be compatible with all US carriers, and will have model numbers of SM-G950 for the Galaxy S8 and SM-G955 for the Galaxy S8 Plus, but it’s further evidence, if any were needed, that they’re almost here.

Samsung itself has all but confirmed that anyway though, as it’s hosting an unveiling on March 29.

  1. Nice weblog right here! Additionally your web site rather a lot up fast! What host are you the use of? Can I get your affiliate link to your host? I wish my website loaded up as quickly as yours lol|

  2. I was curious if you ever considered changing the structure of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?|
