Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra design: all the big changes

Launched at the first Samsung Galaxy Unpacked of 2024, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is yet another evolution for the Galaxy S-series’ largest smartphone.
At first glance it looks a lot like the Galaxy S23 Ultra, in that the same blocky rectangular design is present with a quartet of rear cameras embedded into the phone’s chassis. But there are two major design changes the Galaxy S24 Ultra brings in.
The first is in the material the phone uses. It has a titanium chassis, that, much like the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max‘s use of titanium, makes for a lighter yet stronger overall phone. Then there’s the use of Corning’s new Gorilla Armor, which swaps out the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 found on the Galaxy S23 Ultra screen for a even tougher glass.
The use of titanium has also meant there are new color options for the next-generation Galaxy Ultra; they are: Titanium Violet, Titanium Gray, Titanium Black, Titanium Yellow, Titanium Blue, Titanium Green, and Titanium Orange. The second noteworthy design change is that the Galaxy S24 Ultra has dropped the curved display edges of its predecessor and gone for a flatscreen. What may seem like a downgrade in aesthetics and feel, could be a boon for dedicated S Pen users, as Samsung touted that a flatter screen yields more usable screen space for writing notes on and doodling; given the S Pen’s role in the new AI-powered Circle to Search feature, this screen change could prove very useful.
